Chinese export silver five-piece tea set signed to the base with an unidentified script mark, probably made in Shanghai, circa 1900. According to family tradition this set belonged to the grandfather who was an ERA (Engine Room Artificer) in the Royal Navy, and who according to the father bought it while serving on an RN patrol boat on the Yangtze river in the late 1800’s / early 1900’s.

Dimensions: The Kettle on stand measures 33.4 cm high by 22.5 cm wide and it’s stand measures 19.5 cm long by 16.5 cm wide. The tea pot measures 14.3 cm high by 22 cm handle to spout by 8cm base diameter. The milk jug measures 7.7 cm high by 11.6 cm handle to spout by 6.1 cm base diameter. The sugar bowl measures 7.6 cm high by 14.5 cm across the handles by 7.2 base diameter. The tea caddy measures 11.8 cm high by 9.2 cm wide by 6 cm base diameter.
