A pair of George IV silver candle snuffers marked for London 1823 and engraved with the Royal Crest of the Duke of York by Thomas Radcliffe.
Provenance: The sale of “The Magnificent Silver & Silver Gilt Plate of HRH The Duke of York (deceased)” at Christie’s on Monday 19th March 1827. These were part of Lot 48: “A circular ink stand, with four vases for ink, and a pair of small library candlesticks, chased with festoons, and two pairs of snuffers; weight 60oz 10dwt“
