An Italian steel open barrel frame corkscrew based on the American Chinnock patent. The open barrel frame mounted on the shank allows for centering the perfect Archimedean worm. The circular cut-outs allow the cork to be held while being unscrewed from the worm. Circa 1890. (Provenance: Frank Ellis Collection 2011)
