Rare Cape silver basting spoon by Joseph Ince. Circa 1825.
Currently the only piece of Cape Silver by him containing Cape pseudo marks.
Note: This spoon’s marks give definitive proof that Ince was a Cape Maker as the 3 pseudo marks are recorded as being used by John Townsend and Lodewyk Beck.
