A chrome plated all steel mechanical corkscrew known as the “Bodega”. This was after Ernst Scharff’s 1899 German patent. The inner part of the handles cover the threaded shaft and lock it for insertion into the cork. Once penetrated the handles are lifted and it rides down the shaft lifting the cork out of the bottle. Perfect centre cut worm. Circa 1905. (Provenance: Frank Ellis Collection 2011).
