An all steel straight pull corkscrew where the handle is a cap lifter. This example is marked “PATENT” on one side and “No. 9509” on the other. This was granted a British patent No. 9509 on 25 April 1898. It was granted to Harold Robert Smythe and George Duncan Mackay. Perfect helical worm. Circa 1898.
