Victorian silver milk jug marked for London 1876 by Robert Garrard with Royal crest.
Marked ‘1st Service’ on base’ and carries Royal crest and motto to the side. The motto translates as ‘Shame be to him who thinks evil of it’. See Pages 78 & 79 of ‘Royal Goldsmiths The Garrard Heritage’ where this design is named as the ‘RG pattern’.
