A late 19th century French 8-day Tortoiseshell mounted mantle clock with gilt bronze mounts in the Louis XV style. The movement by Samuel Marti and the backplate numbered 2333. Also struck to the backplate is ‘MADE IN FRANCE’ and the ‘Medaille D’Or, Samuel Marti, PARIS 1900’. The movement has a Brocot suspension and dead-beat escapement and strikes on the half hour and hour.

Dimensions: 36 cm high by 12 cm deep by 16 cm wide.
