Working in the town of Bhuj in Cutch, in western India Oomersi Mawji was one of the most famous silversmiths from the Raj period.
This set profusely chased with classical Indian scenes attests to his skill as a member of the cobbler caste.
Appointed as Court Silversmith to Maharao Shri Khengarji III of Cutch his work today is sought after by local and international collectors.
