Rare Cape 19ct gold double buckle by Johannes Casparus Lotter, Circa 1811- 1823 in a later case. Only a handful of Cape Gold pieces are recorded, including an 18ct gold snuff box and five gold hair pins.
Tested by Cape Precious Metals in 2017 as 19.135 Karat, the balance comprising both copper & silver.

The son of Johannes Casparus Lotter (Senior- 1737) and Johanna Catharina van Kerken. Baptised at the Cape on 23 October 1768. Married Catharina Adriana Dempers. Died on 24 March 1823. Recorded working at 75 Loop Street 1811- 1823.
